WHAT IS TAKING NOTES??

- Assalamualaikum everyone!! For this week, I learnt about taking notes. I hope we will lead this way in our students life. Taking notes is writing down all the ideas from lecturer using our words to
simplify the revision process. It will be easy to understand when we do our revision. It is because no all the lecturer will give us information directly. So, we shoul be good on taking notes and important content that lecturer give.

WHY SHOULD TAKES NOTES???

There must be a reason when we do something...What is your opinion??YES..of course,it can help us.

HELP US:

  • To study and pay attention in class
  • Study for quiz, tests or final exam
  • Improves our memory
  • Take ownership of ideas
  • Engage our senses
  • Organize and process data and information
  • Helps the lecturer to tests the students on how well they were captured  the information given

WHY REVIEW NOTES???

  • We lose 80% of what we hear if it is not reviewed within a few hours
  • Identify any questions for peers, the next class or to ask the proffesor
  • There is not have enough time to absorb all the information given in class  if it's not reviewed on regular basics
  • Think "if I were tested on this lecture tomorrow, would ace it?"make it so!
So,please take time everyday to review our notes!😉

WHY RECAPTURES NOTES AFTER CLASS??

  • Frees us up to write in quick or shorthand during class
  • An excellent test=prepare strategy of reinforcing

BEFORE CLASS

  • Review the notes from the day before
  • Review your reading assignment
  • Make sure you have paper, text, pens and handout.
  • Write the date at the top of your paper for notes
  • Leave spaces between the lines so that you can add information later

SEATING

  • Near the front
  • Can get better vision
  • Better learning
  • Avoid distraction
  • Doorways,window glare and etc

  • Use our own language

HOW DO WE PREPARE FOR CLASS?

  • Do pre reading&homework
  • Review syllabus
  • Preview previous notes
  • Look up keywords prior to class
  • Plan on listening 80% of the time

WHILE TAKING NOTES

- While taking notes. We have to be an aggressive, not a passive, listener. ask questions and discuss if its permmited. if not, jot questions in your notes or seek out meaning.

MOOD OF LECTURER IS OBSERVATION IS KEY!!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOUR LECTURER ISN'T TOO INTERESTING??
-You should sit in front the class and be an active student because:
  • It is harder to fall asleep because your lecturer can see you more
  • The board is easier to read
  • Declaring your willingness to take a risk and participate
  • We can more focus in our class

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOUR INSTRUCTOR ISN'T INTERESTING??
  • Pay attention to the ACT of writing when you motive your attention
  • Ask questions
